You are cordially invited to the festive opening of our two exhibitions Lines, Lives and Lies and Off the Timeline on Saturday, July 13th at 4.30PM.
Lines, Lives and Lies is our exhibition located on the ground floor, featuring the work of 6 alumni (duos) of Aernout Mik that have since established themselves within the professional art world, each securing a unique position in the art landscape.
With works by Mikołaj Sobczak, Zauri Matikashvili, Jana Kerima Stolzer & Lex Rütten, Youn Hee Park, Nicola Gördes & Stella Rossié, Silke Schönfeld. Curator: Annemarie Galani (selection of alumni artists) and Aernout Mik.
Off the Timeline — in extension of Lines, Lives and Lies, On The Inside presents the v ibrant exhibition Off the Timeline in its upper space. This exhibition features works by 31 students from Aernout Mik’s current class at the Kunstakademie Münster in Germany.
The students, who spend an average of four years in the class, vary in age and development.
While their primary focus is on video, the exhibition also includes photography, performance, painting, installation, and sculpture.
Both exhibitions showcase young international film and installation art by artists (once) guided by the artist Aernout Mik. By presenting these exhibitions simultaneously, a unique perspective emerges on the various stages of the artistic development of young artists, the paths they take, and the themes relevant to them. It showcases the intersection of the still searching and the more completed, sharing the same intensity.
