“Malerei” (Painting) is the title of a series of exhibitions at the University of Fine Arts Münster that has been running since 2004 and in which four painting positions by students are presented every year. Supported by the regional council, Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe, the exhibition is shown outside Münster in changing Westphalian exhibition houses.
The series is aimed at presenting the medium of painting as it constantly questions and also renews itself. The idea is to show how painting, despite all the technical progress of the artistic media, remains true to itself through all discussions on the one hand, while at the same time participating in contemporary developments and developing a future outlook from them. A catalogue is published for each exhibition (see Publications).
