The orientation year
The term “orientation year” refers to all students who begin their studies at the University of Fine Arts and study together in the first two semesters. At the same time, it describes the study phase in which the foundations are laid for the artistic studies that will follow, and it serves the goal of finding one’s way into an individual artistic working process. Successful completion of the orientation year is a prerequisite for admission to the advanced studies in an artistic class.

Based on everyday situations that are observed with precision, the works translate moments into video, performance, and installation. The focus is on social roles, power structures, body images, and phenomena of pop culture. Humor and formal precision serve as means of shifting perspective, while the themes remain deliberately accessible without losing depth. This creates a subtle space in which socially anchored images and ideas are questioned.
